e-Learning Delivery Plan
For my project, I plan to deliver a one-hour lesson plan on the topic of Diabetes. The lesson plan will be delivered completely online and will include an evaluation at the end to assess learner knowledge. For the lesson, a PowerPoint presentation with audio via BrainShark would be utilized with an evaluation hosted on Quizstar. The lesson plan would be set up in the form of a blog, similar to this course here: Clinical Care Guidelines
A course orientation tab would be included on this blog, to help orient the learners to the technology being used, and how to navigate throughout the lesson plan. In addition, the course objectives would be listed clearly on the introduction page. The audience that this would be delivered to, would be any healthcare professional or individual that would like to get a better understanding of diabetes (various types, pathophysiology, treatments, clinical studies etc.) Characteristics of these learners would be typically an adult population, various education levels and busy schedules. I plan to deliver this lesson plan towards the end of the Fall 2013 Quarter, and the course should take no longer than one hour to one and a half hours to complete.
Shirley Waterhouse, author of The Power of eLearning explains that "getting a good start is critical in an elearning environment" (p. 207). For this particular lesson plan, I am planning on including the following to help ensure there is a "good start".

- Technology resources
- Welcome message/audio file
- Course Content Resources
- External Link testing
To evaluate whether or not my course delivery is good, I would include a post lesson evaluation which would include questions pertaining to the course content. Furthermore, a survey at the end to allow the learners to evaluate the course as well would be used. This data would be collected and reviewed to assess where areas of opportunity are. The course would also be evaluated using the CSU Chico Rubric. Utilizing this rubric when designing the course would help ensure that the course is strongly built at the beginning.

Hey Melissa, perhaps posting a small quiz on Quizstar for your course might be helpful. This was used for the course mentioned above and turned out fairly well.
